Pakistan’s Khawaja Asif says that India’s regular violations of ceasefire could pave way for ‘major war’.
The Defense Minister of Pakistan Khawaja Asif made a baseless statement and went on to say that said that heavy arms and weaponry is being used by the Indian army at the (LoC) Line of Control and the continuous ceasefire violations by the Indian security force may pave the way for a war between the two neighboring countries India and Pakistan.
The statement by the Defense Minister of Pakistan Khawaja Asif was made while addressing a news conference in Islamabad here on Monday. The Pakistan defense minister said that the PML-N (Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz) government will utilize all the possible diplomatic channels and resources to have a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue. The Pakistani Defense minister however, also added that the Pakistani military is fully capable of dealing any misadventure by the Indian security forces. He said that we are full prepared to deal with any situation if a war is imposed on us. He said that “Not only in Kashmir, but the Muslim blood is being shed in Myanmar and Palestine as well…we hope the Islamic countries are with us on the issue,” He said that we are deeply sorrowed over loss of innocent lives at the hands of security forces that held Kashmir over the weekend. The Pak federal minister also added that the violence in the last 24 hours was very high and this matter needs foreign intervention. He has put some figures without any evidences and said that over 520 Kashmiri’s were martyred while nearly 9,000 injured in the previous two years. “We also have good relations with other countries if India enjoys cordial ties with the international community. We have good ties with the European Union and bilateral relations with the United States are getting better,” he said, while adding that the Pakistan government will not repeat the mistakes of the past to happen again.
